Paul urges the church at Ephesus to "grow up in every way into Christ" so that they would no longer be children "tossed to and fro and blown about by every wind of doctrine" (Ephesians 4:13-15, NRSV).
In search of a place where we can share our spiritual journey with one another, we come together in covenant to encourage one another in faith. We acknowledge that the road we travel as disciples of Christ is sometimes difficult during both discovery and navigation. Therefore, we will meet weekly to offer one another our love, prayers, and support. With God's grace and our mutual accountability . . .
Acts of Compassion
We will strive to increase our service to others and graciously acknowledge others' service to us.
We will practice listening to other people as a ministry of grace.
Acts of Justice
We will speak out when we are aware of injustices practiced in our church, our community, our nation, and the world.
We will stand up for those who are not present or able to stand up for themselves.
Acts of Devotion
We will read the Bible each day as a devotional exercise and not a study assignment.
We will record the spiritual insights of our daily Bible reading.
Acts of Worship
Striving for true involvement, we will participate in weekly corporate worship.
We will receive the sacrament of Holy Communion monthly.
Spiritual Promptings and Warnings
We will remember that whatever we do — be it work, study, recreation —is dedicated to God.
We will try to recognize the warnings of the Holy Spirit when our words should remain unspoken.
Recognizing that there are times when we cannot live up to the standards we have set for ourselves in fulfilling God's will, we covenant to support one another in an encouraging and constructive manner.
