Covenant Preamble
"I love you, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock,
my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised" (Psalm 18:1-3a).
In gratitude for the grace of Jesus Christ, in
whose death and resurrection we have found new life, we pledge to be his disciples. We recognize that our time and talents are gifts from God, and we will use them to search out God's will for us and to obey. We will do our best not to compromise the will of God for human goals. We will serve both God and God's creation earnestly and lovingly. We humbly offer our time, abilities, resources, brokenness, and will to God in order that God's kingdom may bear fruit in us and in the world. We covenant together to exemplify Christ's vision for the church, reaching out to everyone as a sign and servant of Christ.
