Fall Semester 2004
Preamble
In search of a place where we can share our spiritual journey with one another, we come together in covenant to encourage one another in faith. We acknowledge that the road we travel as disciples of Christ is sometimes difficult. Therefore, we will open and close our meetings with prayer to help focus our minds and hearts on God rather than on our accomplishments and ourselves. In so doing, we covenant each week to offer one another our love, prayers, and support. With God's grace and our mutual accountability we will commit to . . .
Acts of Compassion
- We will listen and be available to other people as a ministry of grace.
- We will try to live each day in the knowledge that God’s spirit is within us and available to all.
Acts of Justice
- We will stand up for those who are not present or able to stand up for themselves, and we will encourage reconciliation wherever possible.
- We will strive for unconditional love and acceptance of all God's creation.
- We will acknowledge all people as God's creation, regardless of socioeconomic or ethnic background.
Acts of Devotion
- We will be faithful in our preparation for presence and participation in worship each service.
- We will seek to worship God in unexpected situations.
Conclusion
Trusting in grace, we pledge to support one another in our search to do God's will in the world.
