Our Stewardship

As one of the General Agencies of The United Methodist Church, GBOD receives a portion of its revenue from the World Service Fund. This fund supports the churchwide work of the denomination.

The World Service Fund is financed by apportionments - financial support that each church provides to enable denomination-wide ministries. Your giving helps support the World Service Fund. <Learn more about the World Service Fund>

These funds allow us to research and develop new resources, provide some of our consultation services, prepare training events, and award a limited number of grants and scholarships.

The cost of printing and distributing books and other products, as well as the cost of conducting events and onsite consultations is covered by fees we charge for these products and services.

The Upper Room Ministries division of the GBOD is self-supporting and receives no World Service Funds. Upper Room Ministries is supported entirely through the sale of its books, magazines, and other products.
